These collections include fabrics printed with Christine's original beadwork, garments are manufactured outside our local studio.  Items are made in US, Canada and Overseas. 

Grandmother Rockstar print Prêt-à-Porter COLLECTION 

A collection based in the heritage and culture of the ARTISAN, Christine Tournier's French Métis community, this collection started with the "grandmothers".

"When I speak about grandmothers, the term in my Métis culture, not only refers to grandmothers with biological grandchildren, it is a more encompassing term than that. A Grandmother may be someone that does not have grandchildren of her own, she may have nieces, nephews, siblings or friends children or just caregivers of people in the community as a whole.

For this collection, I reflected on photos of Métis beadwork of the late 1800s and this started the pieces that I beaded to create the beadwork fabrics. For many Métis people, we also refer to our ancestral pieces of beadwork as grandmothers.

When creating the beadwork of course I think about my own grandmothers, and their influence on me. I think about all the other women in my life that encourage me and have been my grandmothers, my ‘cheerleaders’ to keep me doing what I’m doing, creating beadwork art fashion and sharing it.  I thought about these women and how they are caring, nurturing people.. they are also fun loving, they like to dance, party, and they all laugh loud. I think teasing and laughing have always been a part of how we get through, both the good and the bad.

So through this collection, in these designs I hope you will see elements of Métis, French Canadian, Indigenous, European cultures, these are all a part of me, I carry them all in heart, and they are with me always".

Luxury Couture COLLECTION  - GRANDMOTHER ROCKSTAR - ON THE RUNWAY IN CANNES, FRANCE MAY 20TH, 2023

"I thought about how Grandmothers maybe should be on tour, they are really like rockstars. Well really, they are kind of living the rockstar life already, living life to the fullest.  That’s been their teaching, through all the joy, pain, tragedy and triumphs of life...they always come out strong.

Grandmothers are our biggest supporters.  They have paved the way for women to stand up and say “hell yes, I’ll do that”.

The Grandmother Rockstar collection had to be a Luxury Couture production.  All locally produced in my St Louis studio, using local artisans to assist in production.  There are pieces with hand beaded Métis floral beadwork,  elegant fabrics printed with my beadwork designs, and fun rockstar elements. This collection has been designed, cut and sewn by hand."
